Opening week Wednesday 12th - Saturday 15th September 2012

Open until 29 September, Wednesday - Saturday 12-18HR and by appointment through October

Skalitzers has been busy renovating our new 360sqm space in Friedrichshain over the summer months. The new gallery is located at the former Railway Workshops on Revaler Strasse between Warschauer Strasse and Modersohnstrasse. The "Reichsbahnausbesserungswerk" (RAW) was formed in 1867 as the "Royal Prussian Railway Workshop Berlin II" for the repair of railway carriages, and used as a general industrial site by the DDR until 1989.

RAW was decommissioned in 1994 and abandoned for several years before becoming home to artists in the late 1990s. The area was acquired from the Deutsche Bahn in 2007 and the buildings will remain until its development later this decade.

The gallery is located at the eastern end, directly opposite Gate 4.

During Berlin Art week, Skalitzers presents a preview of the new gallery with the a selection of works from Skalitzers artists between 2009-2012 and the gallery's permanent collection - displayed for the first time.

Skalitzers will also be presenting works at the nearby Stroke Art Fair at Berlin Postbahnhof from 13-16 September.
